How to Upload SVG Files to Cricut Design Space
Step-by-step guide to importing your SVG files into Design Space:
- Open Cricut Design Space and log in to your account
- Click “Upload” in the left sidebar
- Click “Upload Image”
- Select “Browse” and choose your SVG file from your computer
- Click “Save” (you can name it for easy finding later)
- Click “Insert Images” to add it to your canvas
- Resize, arrange, and customize as needed
- Click “Make It” when ready to cut
Pro Tip: Always select “Attach” if your design has multiple layers to keep them aligned during cutting.
Common Cricut Issues & Solutions
Problem: Design elements are on separate mats
Solution: Select all layers on the canvas, then click “Attach” in the bottom right corner.
Problem: SVG won’t upload or shows as blank
Solution: Try converting the file online at Convertio, or contact us for a replacement file.
Problem: Cuts are not aligned properly
Solution: Clean your mat, recalibrate your machine, and make sure all layers are attached.

Silhouette Tutorials

How to Import Files to Silhouette Studio
⚠️ Important: SVG files require Silhouette Studio Designer Edition (paid upgrade). If you have the Basic Edition, use the DXF files included in your download instead.
For SVG files (Designer Edition):
- Open Silhouette Studio
- Click “File” → “Open”
- Navigate to your SVG file and select it
- The design will open on your canvas
- Resize and arrange as needed
- Click “Send” to cut
For DXF files (Basic or Designer Edition):
- Open Silhouette Studio
- Click “File” → “Open”
- Change file type to “DXF” in the dropdown
- Select your DXF file
- Design will import to canvas
Common Silhouette Issues & Solutions
Problem: Can’t open SVG files
Solution: You need Designer Edition to use SVG files. Use the DXF files instead, which work with all versions of Studio.
Problem: Design imports too small or too large
Solution: After importing, use the resize handles to adjust to your desired size. Hold Shift while resizing to maintain proportions.
Problem: Layers are not grouped together
Solution: Select all elements, then right-click and choose “Group” to keep them together.
