General & Technical Questions

What is an SVG file?

An SVG stands for Scalable Vector Graphic. This file type is ideal for cutting machines because it can be resized infinitely without losing quality or becoming pixelated.

What file formats are included in my purchase?

Purchases typically come in a compressed .zip file containing various formats such as SVG, PNG, EPS, and DXF to ensure compatibility with different software.

How do I receive my files after purchase?

After your payment is complete, you will receive an order confirmation email with a secure download link. You can also access your downloads from the “My Account” or “Downloads” section of our website.

How do I unzip a downloaded file?

On most computers, you can right-click the .zip file after saving it and select “Extract All” or “Unzip” to access the individual design files inside.

What cutting machines are compatible with your SVG files?

Our files are compatible with most major cutting machines, including:

  • Cricut Explore, Maker, and Joy – Uses SVG files in Cricut Design Space
  • Silhouette Cameo – Requires the paid Designer Edition upgrade to use SVG files; otherwise, use the included DXF files
  • Brother ScanNCut, Siser Romeo/Juliet, and others

Can I use these designs with my regular printer?

Yes. The included PNG files have a transparent background and can be used for “print and cut” projects or standard printing.

How do I resize a design?

SVG files are vector graphics and can be resized within your cutting machine’s software (like Cricut Design Space) without quality loss. Ensure you maintain the design’s proportions and attach all layers if necessary.

Why are my score lines on a separate mat in Cricut Design Space?

You need to go back to the design canvas, select both the shape and its score lines, and click the “Attach” button in the bottom right. This tells the machine to keep them together.

Licensing & Commercial Use

All Creative Makery designs include commercial use rights at no extra cost. You may create and sell unlimited physical products using our designs.

Can I use your designs on shirts I sell in my small business?

Yes! There are no licenses at Creative Makery. When you purchase a design, you can use it to create and sell unlimited physical products like:

  • T-shirts, hoodies, and apparel
  • Mugs, tumblers, and drinkware
  • Tote bags and accessories
  • Wood signs, canvas prints, and décor
  • Any other physical item you can imagine!

The only restriction: You cannot sell the digital files themselves. See our Commercial-Free Use page for complete details.

Am I allowed to resell or share the digital file itself?

No. Under no circumstances may the digital design files be resold, shared, or distributed for free in any digital format.

Can I alter or edit the design?

You are free to modify the design (change colors, remove elements, resize) to fit your project needs. However, you cannot alter the design and then resell the digital altered file as your own.

Can I use these designs for Print-on-Demand (POD) services (e.g., Printful, Printify)?

Specific license terms apply to POD use. Check the product description or our full Terms of Use to see if this is permitted, as some licenses restrict third-party printing.

How do I know if a design is copyrighted or trademarked?

It is your responsibility to ensure that you are not using copyrighted characters, logos, or unique phrases from TV shows, movies, or sports teams. Our designs are original, but you should always verify current trademarks, especially for common phrases, if you plan to sell the items.
